'TOWERS' - A NEW VENTURE FOR JOHN HUDSON

A new venture and a different direction. Collaborating with composer/musician Pete Morton, known mainly for his work in rock music, this collection of songs is more radical in its approach yet perhaps surprisingly elegant in its result.

Taking some of John's operatic favourites and re-working them for acoustic and electric instruments has resulted in some interesting versions of well-known arias. Morton's own compositions have an originality which draw on his background in rock music but show his much broader influence from renaissance lute through to 20th Century composers.

Recorded partly in St.Mary's Church, Worsbrough where Hudson and Morton were choristers in the 1970s and 80s, this work acknowledges the importance of the church in their musical upbringing and the whole area where they were brought up.

The instrumentation on the album includes electric, acoustic and classical guitars, bouzouki, violin, cello, keyboards, piano.
